The Atlanta Falcons announced that they have signed Pro Bowl running back Steven Jackson to a 3-year contract.
Jackson played for the St. Louis Rams last season but became a free agent after he voided his contract. He will be counted on to replace outgoing running back Michael Turner, who was release after five productive seasons with the Falcons.
Jackson has rushed for 10,135 yards and 56 touchdowns in the NFL since being taken in the first round (24th overall) of the 2004 draft. He’s also noted for his catching abilities, having caught 407 passes for 3,324 yards and eight touchdowns.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
